Bjelovar Museum is located on Eugen Kvaternik Square, with beautiful park in historical part of the city which has status of first category cultural heritage. Museum collects, keeps, transform, interprate and presents the most significant and most valuable memories from the history of its inhabitants. Several private collections preceded of the founding of the Museum (collector Heinrich Kamer and Ivan Baresic).
Teacher Rade Kovac started initiative for founding the Museum in 1946, and three years lated, official decision of founding was brought.
