Maksimir park presents the oldest park in Zagreb and the oldest public park in South Eastern Europe. It is maybe the biggest masterpiece of garden architecture in Croatia. It is founded in 1787, and in 1794 was opened to public.
The park has few meadows, creeks, five lakes and it is habitat for numerous plant and animal species. Zagreb ZOO is placed in the part of the park, also.
It is perfect for numerous outdoor activities, or long walks through the nature and relaxation.
