On July 9, 2025, Bikademy was presented as a health and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) solution for cities at the conference Healthy Mobility in the Cities, held at SEECEL in Zagreb. The event brought together experts and stakeholders from public health, urban planning, academia, and city administration to explore how mobility shapes the quality of life in urban environments.
Organized by Invento Capital as EIT Urban Mobility representatives for Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with EIT Health and UNIC – European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition, the conference emphasized the urgent need for urban environments that support both sustainability and public well-being.
Healthy Mobility: At the Intersection of Health and Urban Design
The core focus of the conference was healthy mobility – an approach that prioritizes active transportation, air quality, traffic safety, and equitable infrastructure. Experts agreed that without meaningful changes in mobility habits and spatial priorities, such as pedestrian zones, cycling paths, and faster public transit, the health and sustainability of cities will continue to face major challenges.
Panel discussions included perspectives on:
- Public health and social inclusion
- Urban planning and infrastructure
- Strategic mobility policies and citizen engagement
- Accessibility for older adults, children, and people with disabilities
Panel discussion participants included:
- Dr. Lora Vidović, Head of the City Office for Social Protection, Health, Veterans, and Persons with Disabilities, City of Zagreb
- Dr. Andro Pavuna, Head of the City Office for Local Self-Government, Transport, Civil Protection, and Safety, City of Zagreb
- Prof. Dr. Selma Šogorić, M.D., Project Leader of the Croatian Healthy Cities Network
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maja Ahac, Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb
- Dr. Matija Sikirić, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb
In this context, interdisciplinary action and practical tools like Bikademy stood out as vital components of future-ready cities.

Bikademy as a Digital Driver of Healthy Mobility
As one of four selected initiatives, Bikademy was presented by founder Krešimir Herceg as a simple yet effective digital solution that motivates people to cycle more, both for leisure and daily transport.
With two main features: Studies and Challenges, Bikademy connects citizens with their surroundings while promoting physical activity and sustainability. Users explore cities by bike, check in at selected checkpoints via the app, and earn rewards for their efforts.
Bikademy’s positive impact includes:
- Encouraging active lifestyles
- Reducing car usage and CO₂ emissions
- Making cultural and natural heritage more accessible by bike
- Supporting data-driven ESG strategies for local governments
Spotlight on Residents’ Clash: A New Feature for Municipalities
At the conference, we also presented our newest feature: Residents’ Clash: a powerful engagement tool specifically designed for municipalities.
Residents’ Clash is an internal Challenge mode in the Bikademy app that allows citizens to compete in four categories based on their daily cycling distances:
- 0–10 km/day: Commuter
- 10–20 km/day: Recreationist
- 20–60 km/day: Enthusiast
- 60+ km/day: Athlete
The goal is simple: motivate everyday cycling, reward the most active participants each month (in both male and female categories), and create a culture of movement across all fitness levels.
Cities receive access to dashboards with aggregated data on:
- Kilometers cycled
- Number of rides
- CO₂ savings
- Participation insights by category
With no need for physical infrastructure, Residents’ Clash is a fast, cost-effective way for local governments to promote healthy mobility, reduce emissions, and involve their communities in urban transformation.

A Shared Vision for Healthier Cities
In addition to Bikademy, other initiatives presented included:
- Circlear, a project by the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb
- Green Prescription (Zeleni Recept), a health-based cycling project from Zagreb-Center Health Centre
- Smart Sense, focused on environmental sensing and urban analytics
All projects demonstrated that sustainable and inclusive mobility is key to healthier cities—but real impact depends on tools that citizens can easily adopt and enjoy.
Bikademy Is Ready to Ride With Your City
By combining gamification, real-time analytics, and community motivation, Bikademy supports municipalities and institutions on their journey toward healthier, more sustainable urban life.
Whether you’re aiming to reduce traffic, promote ESG goals, or improve public health, Bikademy and the new Residents’ Clash feature offer a ready-to-implement solution with real impact.
