Suvara in Otok is a dry-powered mill. It is of round shape, built of bricks with a roof structure made of oak wood. Horsepower is the driving force of the mill-wheel which was used to grind wheat, barley, oats and corn. The Suvara in Otok is the only such structure preserved in Croatia or in this part of Europe.
In the past, there were eight of them in Otok alone. The residents of Otok also call this remaining one the Tomašić’s or Klara’s Suvara and the year 1863 is carved on it. Today, the Otok Suvara is a cultural monument, restored and still interesting and unique.
