Slavonski Brod

In Slavonski Brod, one of the important strategic and traffic places that controlled the most important crossing on the Sava to Bosnia and connected the main trade routes, between 1715 and 1780 the great Imperial and Royal Slavonian border fortress Brod was built. With its extensions, this baroque complex of fortifications is the largest building of its kind in Croatia, and among the largest in Europe.

Gajna

A protected landscape, Gajna is a typical Slavonian Sava valley pasture with abundant swamp animal and plant life situated east of Slavonski Brod. Stara Kapela

The village is located halfway between Nova Gradiska and Slavonski Brod, on a side road to the slopes of the Pozega hill.

Until a few years ago the village was asleep at the time of modernization and forgotten. Then a handful of enthusiasts in their home region launched an initiative to preserve the place, its culture and traditions, and the village has become a unique tourist destination in Slavonia.

Stara Gradiska

Stara Gradiska is a small town placed near river Sava. And its role in Brodsko – posavska county is small today. But it wasn’t always like that. Stara Gradiska is marked by old baroque fortress, which began to build at 1715. Unlike of those in Slavonski Brod, this fortress covered civilian settlement and because of that it belonged to one of the most significant city centres of Croatian Baroque.

Brod-Posavina County – Where “along the way” becomes final destination

Brod-Posavina County is an elongated beauty located between the southern slopes of the Slavonian mountains and the Sava River. To the modern traveler, it is perhaps best known as the area along the busiest Croatian highway (A3), the one that connects Central Europe with the Southeast.

At the same time, through this site of ours – because it is quite self-effacing – our County invites you to discover its hidden nooks, away from the hustle and bustle of the asphalt. Beautiful nature, rich table, hosts for whom Hospitality seems to be the first name of that history just enough to make it even more interesting to you, are a combination that make our region worth not only standing by, but also staying.
