Wooded slopes of mount Papuk are full of fresh water. In that preserved greenness there are many springs of clear water, which bounce along the mountain side. In its base, Papuk forms a wrinkled landscape full of valleys and coves.
An idea of building a dam in one of the vallys came to life in 1960s and beneath the ruins of Ružica grad (engl. Rose town) beautifull artificial lake found its home.
The Orahovica Lake received its guests for many years. Every spring bottom of te Lake and its shores were thoroughly cleaned.
Visitors can enjoy in clear water, grassy shore, rest in the tree shadows and listen to beautifull bird carol. Nature lovers can climb on steep paths which lead to ruins of Rose town.
